TRANSvisualATION
Clare Calveley Creative is a multi-disciplinary artist/designer based in Manchester/Anglesey.
Her practice research graphically investigates space, place, and non-places in a physical and non-physical manner. Her outputs vary from being print-based (which can be paper, fabric, to materials such as metal), alongside exploring sustainable interactive viewing through digital software such as swatcheditor, AVA CAD/CAM, and Fusion 360. Her practice has stemmed from her MA research of the coffin, space, people and the relationship between them. This has opened up the concept of ‘The Unfolded Journey of TRANScoffinATION.’ Clare's research is taking an interesting trajectory towards commercial print and visualisation applications, alongside a future Ph.D. in social design.
This project 'TRANSvisualATION' explores how printed textiles can be explored digitally, but still able to view their physical properties through virtual movement. 'Flow' & 'Scrunch' are created using the swatcheditor software, whilst ‘Coffination’ was created in Fusion 360. Our digital and physical worlds are aligning together more than ever, alongside tackling our issues on sustainability.
Clare teaches and champions real-time 3D interactive viewing for the print industry to BA & MA students within the school of Art at MMU.
